The West Coast is incredibly scenic and offers great panoramic views of the Pacific Coast. It is home to some of the most vibrant and incredible cities and states – California, Oregon and Washington. Whether you drive up or fly to the different cities, you are sure to see some gorgeous scenery that will take your breath away. Equally amazing is the change in the cuisine, the ethnic make-up and the culture as you go up. The weather also changes with the scenery, not too drastic, but enough for you to register the change. We give you the top West Coast attractions.

1. San Diego

Going up from the Mexican border, the first big city that one would cross is San Diego, famous for its old town, the museum and the cuisine. Not to miss is La Jolla with its sandstone formations.

2. Los Angeles

The city of Angels: home to Hollywood and some of the best food in the world. This is one city you cannot afford to miss on the West Coast. The bars, nightclubs and the many tourist places make it a must see on the West Coast.

3. San Francisco

The city by the bay. Lousy weather more than made up for by its natural beauty and many other attractions. It is also home to many of the tech giants and other start-ups.

4. Big Sur

Astounding views of the ocean, cliffs, mountains and a wide array of flora and fauna make Big Sur a very special place. Environmental restrictions have made this region sparsely populated and help retain its natural beauty.

5. Colombia River Gorge

The historic Colombia River Gorge highway is so scenic, with lush hills, and dotted with many waterfalls along the way. It is a safe route for bikers and hikers and gives you a photographic opportunity every few minutes.

6. Washington state

A state so beautiful, it looks like a collage of postcards. Lakes, mountains and acres of fields and a sparse population make it truly beautiful.

There are so many places up the West Coast that it would take months to visit all of them. The best way to do the West Coast is to drive up, so you won’t miss the quaint little towns and other beautiful places.
