You may use plenty of cosmetics to take care of your skin on a daily basis. But nothing can give your skin the inner glow and beauty like a good diet that comprises detoxifying foods. Here are the a few foods items that you must include in your diet to have beautiful, detoxified skin.

1. Garlic

Garlic is considered to be an effective detoxifier not just for skin but for the whole body. It cleans and thins the blood and serves as a natural antibiotic. It also has natural antifungal and antiviral properties. Garlic is known to be an antioxidant which helps the skin in getting rid of cancer causing free radicals.

2. Yogurt

Yogurt is a rich source of Vitamin A, which is considered to be very good for skin because it reaches pores of the skin and clears oil and bacteria from it. As opposed to increasing milk consumption, you should increase your yogurt intake to detoxify skin. It is considered to be good for overall skin health and allows the skin to be cleansed and enriched with Vitamin A.

3. Lemon

Lemon is not just rich in Vitamin C but it is considered to be packed with about 30 detoxifying substances. It helps the skin to replenish dead cells, prevent cell damage and fight against pollution and bacteria from everyday exposure. Lemon is known to convert acids of the body in a watery form which is easier for the body to excrete. It also helps in balancing the acidity of the foods that you have eaten through the day so that lesser toxins are produced out of it. To have clear and beautiful skin, include lemon in your diet by squeezing it over your salads or consuming more lemonade.

4. Blueberries

Most fruits are known to have antioxidants which are very good for skin. But blueberries in particular are packed with more antioxidants than an average fruit. Blueberries are known to slow down the aging process in skin, prevent sagging and fight the damaging effects of UVA radiation and pollution. Eat more raw blueberries, make berry based smoothies or sprinkle blueberry toppings on your desert to detoxify your skin.

5. Green vegetables

Most green vegetables including spinach, fennel, parsley, broccoli, seaweed, asparagus, kale and dandelion are known to be very effective skin detoxifying foods. They contain high levels of beta carotene which is a type of antioxidant. Including ample green leafy vegetables in your diet will also replenish fiber, potassium, folate and other vitamins which help in repairing skin cell damage.

6. Almonds

A combination of almonds, walnuts and raisins are considered to be healthy for skin. But if you are particularly looking to detoxify your skin, you should eat more almonds. Almonds supply Vitamin E and essential fats to your body. Your skin needs a regulated level of fat to keep its membranes elastic and make skin look younger. Almonds also help in reducing cholesterol which in turn decreases toxins in the body.
